THE City Council of Davao approved on Thursday the request of Mayor Rodrigo Duterte granting productivity enhancement incentive (PEI), commonly known as Christmas bonus, to all City Government employees.
Presented by Councilor Danilo Dayanghirang as chair of the committee on finance, ways and means, the P74-million budget allocated for the Christmas bonus of more than 3,000 employees got the nod of the city councilors.
According to the local finance committee (LFC), the bonus will be released not later than December 24.
The plantilla personnel will receive P10,000 each, while consultants and job order/contract of service will each receive P5,000.
The LFC also included the grant-in-aid day care workers, barangay health workers, barangay nutrition scholars and auxiliary personnel for this year's distribution of bonuses with P2,000 each since "they have also contributed to the accomplishment of city's goals".
Duterte earlier advised the employees to spend the money wisely.
"Good thing to do is to really bring the money to your family and spare a little amount for the victims if you feel for them," Duterte said.
The resolution read that the incentives will be sourced out from the 2013 General Fund and Special Education Fund.
