P800,000 properties lost in Buhangin fire-A A +A

SOME P800,000 worth of properties were burned down in a fire that hit three houses occupied by six families in Zone 1, St. Jude, Buhangin, Davao City on Tuesday.
The biggest damage recorded was at the house of Malou Zamora and Eleazar Uson Caoite, who incurred a total damage cost of P500,000, while the houses of Richard Soliva Rubio, his brother Reynante and their father Miguel each had a total damage cost of P100,000.
A boarding house owned by Pilar Rom Solva that was occupied by Edwin Dongke and Jenieva Soliva was also razed, yet the estimated cost of damage has yet to be determined.
Investigation conducted by the Buhangin police station revealed that the fire started at the house of Zamora around 1 p.m. The fire quickly spread as the houses were made of light materials.
Firefighters from the Buhangin Fire Station and Central 911 responded at the scene and declared fire out around 2 p.m.
Further investigation revealed that the initial cause of fire was overheating of the air-condition unit at the house of Zamora. (RPSA)
