POLICE filed charges before the Regional Trial Court (RTC) against a man who hacked a Traffic Management Center (TMC) enforcer dead last December 19 at Crossing Bayabas in Toril, Davao City.
Charged for murder was Junie Lamanilao Sumabong, 27, of Marapangi, Toril.
Sumabong allegedly killed Julan Gentapa, a TMC enforcer of Central 1, Binugao, Toril.
Investigation showed that the incident happened around 3:45 p.m. last Thursday. The victim was manning at the crossing’s intersection when the suspect attacked him with a scythe from behind.
Sumabong was pronounced dead at the Malta District Hospital in Toril after succumbing to hack wounds on his neck and back. The suspect was arrested by the responding police officers.
Police are eyeing revenge as the motive of the hacking as the suspect was reportedly arrested and his motorcycle was impounded by TMC enforcer Leonar Pantinople last December 16 at Puan.
The case is now at the RTC Office of the Clerk of Courts and is set to be raffled off on Thursday.
