2 more killed in shooting-A A +A

TWO men, including one who was carrying illegal drugs, were killed while another was severely injured in three separate shooting incidents in Davao City recently.
The most recent incident took place around 7:30 a.m. Friday on Diamond St., RGA Village in Barangay Paciano Bangoy.
Sta. Ana Police Station chief Superintendent Caezar Cabuhat identified the slain victim as Ian Aposaga Nibres, alias Hapon, a 27-year-old construction worker.
Police investigation revealed that the victim, along with his cousin identified as Cleo Calledo, was in the area when two unidentified armed men onboard a blue Honda Dream 100 motorcycle approached them from behind.
One of the gunmen pulled out a caliber .45 pistol and shot Nibres, but missed. Nibres and Calledo then tried to flee but they were cornered on the same street. The gunmen then shot Nibres several times, killing him on the spot.
Scene of the Crime Operatives (Soco) responded to the scene and recovered eight fired cartridges and two slugs of caliber .45 pistol.
Recovered from the victim’s possession were dried marijuana leaves.
The other shooting incident, which resulted in the death of another person, happened around 3:30 p.m. Thursday at DND Garage along Quimpo Blvd.
Talomo police identified the victim as Archie Castillo Alceber, a 33-year-old car sales agent and a resident of Mangahan St., Toril.
Based on the police investigation, the victim, along with the garage caretaker Anthony Ladroma Villarba, was busy fixing a motorcycle when two unidentified gunmen onboard a blue Honda XRM motorcycle entered the garage.
One of the gunmen pulled out a caliber .45 pistol and shot the victim twice on his head, killing the latter on the spot. Soco recovered one caliber .45 empty shell from the crime scene.
Another shooting incident took place around 9 p.m. on Christmas Day inside Lucas Billiard Hall on Aurora Quezon St. in Calinan, Davao City.
Calinan police identified the injured victim as Leonard Gracia, alias Yong, 24, a resident of Villafuerte St., Calinan.
Police said that Gracia was playing billiard when an unidentified gunman approached him and shot him once, hitting his abdomen. Gracia managed to escape while the gunman fled onboard an awaiting motorcycle outside the billiard hall.
Gracia was brought to Isaac T. Robillo Hospital and was later transferred to the San Pedro Hospital.
Police are yet to determine the motive and identification of the gunmen in the three shooting incidents.
Nibres and Alceber became the 99th and 100th victims of motorcycle-riding gunmen since July 1. In December alone, Sun.Star Davao has tallied a total of 20 deaths allegedly perpetrated by motorcycle-riding gunmen. (RPSA)
