POLICE filed on Thursday charges before the City Prosecutor’s Office against two men arrested for illegal possession of firearms at Purok 8, Barangay 15-B, Davao City on Christmas Day.
Facing charges for illegal possession of firearms and ammunition are Fernando Arellano Saga Jr., 46, a resident of Blk. 2, Soliman, Agdao, and Louie Urbiztondo Domingo, a 39-year-old bodyguard and a resident of Gotamco, Agdao.
The two were charged based on the complaint filed by Senior Inspector Leonardo Tarongoy and the testimony of Barangay 15-B chair Jun Labro.
Police investigation revealed that around 10:45 a.m., Labro reported to the Sta. Ana police after hearing a gunshot. Labro suspected that the gunshot came from the group of Domingo and Saga who were having a drinking spree in the same barangay.
Police responded to the scene and arrested Saga and Domingo while another companion identified as Winnie Fortaliza managed to evade arrest.
Recovered from their possession were one Llama Max-I .45 pistol with five live ammunition and two fired cartridges.
When police asked the respondents to present documents for the firearm, they were not able to present any, thus they were arrested.
The two are currently detained at the Sta. Ana Police Station while the recovered firearm and ammunition will be used as evidence against the respondents in court. The case is being handled by Prosecutor Marte Velasco.
