Davco man faces raps for Sumifru man’s death-A A +A

AN EMPLOYEE of Davao Agri Ventures Corp. (Davco) is facing charges before the City Prosecutor’s Office of Davao after he figured in a vehicular accident that killed a Sumifru staff in Barangay Cawayan in Calinan in Davao City on Saturday evening.
Incidentally, it was the victim who bumped the vehicle of the accused.
Wilson Binobo Monreal, 43, of Nangka Wines in Baguio District, is charged with reckless imprudence resulting to homicide under the Revised Penal Code (RPC), following his arrest on January 25.
Killed in the accident was Armando Garcia, of Purok 1 in Tamayong, Davao City. Garcia was driving his Honda XRM motorcycle with a temporary plate number 112-362343 when the accident happened.
Records from the Calinan police showed the accident happened around 10:55 p.m. Monreal, who was driving a tractor with body number SAFT36, was travelling in the area when he was bumped by Garcia.
According to Police Officer 2 (PO2) Lowell Galupe, of Calinan police, the victim was heading for Tamayong from Cawayan Proper, but due to the speed of his vehicle, he bumped the rear portion of the tractor that made him fall to the ground.
Galupe said the victim succumbed to serious head injury. The body of the victim was immediately brought home as his relatives did not want an autopsy done on him.
Monreal is temporarily detained at the Calinan police for proper disposition.
