Ex-con killed in gang war

A YOUNG ex-convict died after he was stabbed by unidentified men in a gang war along San Pedro extension in Barangay 6-A in Davao City Sunday morning.

Police identified the victim as Alfer Algoso Agad, 18, resident of Barangay 5-A in Bankerohan, who have been detained at the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) for several cases.

Records obtained from San Pedro police showed that the victim was allegedly involved in a series of theft, snatching, and holdup. He was also a dependent user of volatile substance known as vulca seal and member of a notorious gang "Tupas" in Bankerohan.

Investigation showed that a certain Billy Carias, 26, found the victim lying on the street while he was on his way home. Carias thought the victim was drunk and so he called the police for assistance.

According to Carias, when he checked on the condition of the victim, he was surprised that the victim had several stab wounds. Agad was already dead when the police arrived in the area.

A witnesses informed authorities that before the victim was found dead, a commotion happened in the area around 2 a.m.

The witness said two groups of men engaged in a fight that lasted for about 30 minutes.

The Scene of the Crime Operatives (Soco) declared the victim dead. He succumbed to eight stab wounds in his chest and other parts of his body.

The body of the victim was brought to Angel Funeral Parlor.

Meanwhile, a taxi driver was brought to the Davao Adventist Hospital (DAH), after an unidentified man stabbed him at Matina Gallera on McArthur Highway, Matina in Davao City around 12:30 a.m. Sunday.

Police identified the victim as Sonny Ragoro, driver of Orange Taxi, who hails from Sta. Cruz in Davao del Sur, and transient resident in the city. He was waiting for a passenger when the suspect approached and stabbed him at the neck.

The San Pedro police are now looking for the attacker, described to be about 5'2" tall with medium built and curly hair.
