2 in drugs and gun raps-A A +A

TWO men are facing illegal drugs and possession of firearms, ammunition and explosive raps before the City Prosecutor's Office after being arrested by police in a buy-bust operation at Km. 12, Catalunan Pequeño, Davao City last Friday.
Facing charges for violation of Republic Act (RA) 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 and RA 10591 or the Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunitions are Edgar Matunhay Fernandez, 36, and John Brian Monero Delima, 28, both of Purok 22, Km. 12 Catalunan Pequeño.
The two were charged after they were nabbed by operatives of Talomo police led by station chief Julius Silagan.
Report from the police revealed that the operation was launched around 5:30 a.m.
Silagan along with Chief Inspector Alfredo Santillana and Senior Inspector Bryan Deiparine made the arrest after the suspects sold one big plastic sachet of shabu to a police officer who acted as poseur buyer.
Recovered during the buy-bust were one big plastic sachet of shabu and the P500 marked money.
Police also seized three more big plastic sachets of shabu, assorted drug paraphernalia, one caliber .22 Smith and Wesson pistol, one Magnum. 22, 37 live ammos, one improvised steel katana, one MK fragmentation grenade, five assorted mobile phones, and P1,550 in cash from the possession of the suspects.
The two are currently detained at the Talomo police station while the recovered illegal drugs, firearms, ammos and explosive were endorsed to Philippine National Police Crime Laboratory Davao Region. It will be later used as evidence against the suspects in court.
