MILITARY tanks and Central 911 ambulances will be showcased during the Parada Dabawenyo, one of the highlights of the 77th Araw ng Dabaw celebration on March 16, an official said.
Reynan Librado, lead organizer for the Parada, said these government-issued vehicles will be joining the parade that will start at 7 a.m.
"This is a civic-military parade. The contingents will represent their respective offices," Librado said during the I-Speak Forum at the City Hall conference room on Thursday, March 6.
He said some 200 contingents have confirmed to join the parade but the organizers have yet to release the final roster on March 13 or March 14.
He said more groups from the national and local government agencies, non-government organizations (NGOs), people's organizations (POs), private companies, schools and universities and barangay units have confirmed participation in this year's Parada Dabawenyo.
But Librado said they have to limit the number of contingents as they are only given until 12 noon for the activity.
Librado said the executive committee of the City Government of Davao for the Araw celebration allocated P417,000 budget for the parade.
He said the budget is appropriated for the prizes for the best contingent, among others.
He also said they will provide guidelines for the event to avoid delay or cause temporary stoppage on the flow of the parade.
