A SUSPECTED drug pusher, who was caught in possession of P187,000 worth of crystal meth (shabu), is now facing charges before the City Prosecution Office in Bacoldo City.
Police filed charges for violation of the Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 against Christian Anthony Sia, alias Ian, 35, married.
Suia was arrested in a buy-bust operation conducted by the Davao City Police Office Investigation and Detection Management Branch (DCPO-IDMB) inside Uno hotel on C.M. Recto St., Davao City around 1:35 p.m. Wednesday.
Police conducted surveillance on Sia after receiving reports that he has been checking in at the same hotel where he meets his buyers of shabu.
Police received a tip from the hotel management that Sia checked in, prompting them to conduct an operation.
Cops collared Sia after the latter handed out large sachet of shabu in exchange for the boodle of money to a police officer who acted as poseur buyer. Also recovered from his possession were two medium-sized sachets of shabu, four tea-bag sized sachets of shabu and assorted drug paraphernalia.
The suspect is currently detained at the DCPO detention facility while the recovered drugs and paraphernalia were submitted to the Philippine National Police (PNP) Crime Laboratory. They will be used later as evidence against the suspect in court.
Sia may face charges for violation of Sections 6 (Sale, Trading, Administration, Dispensation, Delivery, Distribution and Transportation of Dangerous Drugs and/or Controlled Precursors and Essential Chemicals), 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs) and 12 (Possession of Equipment, Instrument, Apparatus and Other Paraphernalia for Dangerous Drugs).
