According to the witness, the man earlier held the victim, identified only as Jose (real name witheld for being a minor), 16, an out-of-school youth and resident of Bangkal, for allegedly carrying a bladed weapon.

After a few minutes, the victim was seen running, heading outside the resort.

But the unidentified man was able to corner him and shot him twice. The victim sustained two gunshot wounds on his head, while the suspect immediately fled to unknown direction.

The victim, who is in critical condition, was then rushed to Southern Philippines Medical Center by a responding ambulance. Police said the victim is under observation as of press time.

The Scene of the Crime Operatives recovered one empty shell of a caliber .9mm pistol at the crime scene. The empty shell is now at the Regional Crime Laboratory 11 office for ballistic test.

Silagan said he already sent a team led by Senior Inspector Bryan Deiparine to conduct further investigation to identify and locate the man.
