POLICE filed charges before the City Prosecution Office against two suspected gunrunners who were arrested in an operation in Barangay Poblacion in Calinan, Davao City on Wednesday.
Facing charges for violation of Republic Act 10591 or the Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunition, are Ricardo Parilla, 34, member of the Cocoy Lao Group; and Rodante Salcedo, 38, both from Barangay Carmen in Baguio District.
The two were charged after getting arrested in a buy-bust operation launched by the Criminal Investigation and Detection Management Group-Davao Region (CIDG-11) in coordination with the Calinan police.
The suspects agreed to meet up with the operatives in Barangay Poblacion for a transaction. Police then made the arrest after the suspects handed out one unit caliber .45 pistol worth P1,000 to a police officer who acted as poseur buyer.
Also seized from the suspects were one caliber .357 magnum revolver and 12 live ammos.
The suspects were detained at the Davao City Police Office (DCPO) detention facility.
