Burglars break into 2 houses

UNIDENTIFIED men broke into two houses on separate incidents carting some P262,200 in cash and valuables in Davao City on Saturday.

The first incident took place at Block 25 Lot 6 Deca Homes in Cabantian in Buhangin, owned by one Cheryl Avila Montojo, 25, an office assistant.

Police said the victim lost about P46,500 worth of appliances and jewelry.

Records from the Buhangin Police Station showed that the victim only learned of the incident when she returned home on Saturday around 3:30 p.m. The victim has been on vacation since March 10.

She said that when she arrived at the house she already noticed the cut in the cyclone wire fence and that the jalousie blades of the rear window were already detached.

The victim lost a 21-inch Sanyo brand television set worth P5,000; HP brand air-condition worth P10,000; one Industrial fan worth P1,500; and jewelry worth P20,000.

The second robbery incident happened at the house of Engineer Gen Tandili Lozano, 57, a resident of Block 4 Lot 18 NHA Sectoral in Bangkal.

Police said the victim lost P100,000 cash, assorted jewelry worth P116,000, and a closed circuit television (CCTV) camera recorder.

Records from the Talomo Police Station showed that the incident happened late evening Saturday while he was out of town. Lozano said that when he arrived home, he saw that his personal vault was already forced open.

Police believes the robbers entered through the fire exit.

Members of the Buhangin Police Station and Talomo Police Station are still trying to identify suspects.
