POLICE believe that the man that was found dead at Purok 3, Sitio Cogon in Barangay Subasta in Calinan, Davao City on March 18, was murdered.

Senior Inspector Achelles Barguio, chief of the Calinan Police Station, described the victim as one 5’6 tall, fair complexion, and sporting a skinhead.

Police records showed that the body of the victim was found at an open drainage along the road of the Sumifru Plantation at Sitio Cogon in Barangay Subasta on Tuesday around 6 a.m.

Police thought that the victim was killed due to the gunshot wounds found on his body.

The Scene of the Crime Operatives recovered two empty shells of a caliber .45 pistol, one slug from an undetermined pistol, and packaging tape, which was removed from the head of the victim.

Ruperto Toledo, 45, a caretaker of the De Jesus Farm, said he heard two gunshots on March 17 at 7:30 p.m. He did not bother to check the area due to fear.

Barguio said they are still conducting further investigation to trace the people behind the death of the victim.
