THREE suspected drug pushers were shot dead on Tuesday after allegedly resisting arrest in separate police buy-bust operation in Davao City.
Police identified the fatalities as Virgilio Leguis, 40, hailing from Buhangin; Eddie Amil Arpa and Arola Yacob, alias Tikoy, who are both residents of Muslim Village in Barangay Ilang, Tibungco.
Leguis was killed in an operation launched by the Davao City Police Office Investigation and Detection Management Branch (DCPO-IDMB) at corner Suazo and Ponce Streets in Barangay 28-C Poblacion around 7:20 p.m.
Report of the DCPO-IDMB revealed that while a police officer who acted as poseur buyer was about to make the exchange with the suspect, the latter sensed he was dealing with cops thus, he tried to pull out his firearm.
Leguis, however, was killed on the spot after police reinforcements shot him on the different parts of his body.
Recovered from the possession of the slain suspect were a 9mm Norinco pistol with nine live ammunitions, two tea bag-sized sachets of shabu, cash worth P2,000, and a Honda XR-200 motorcycle.
Arpa and Yacob, meanwhile, were slain in an operation conducted by the Bunawan police station at Purok 3-A, Bay Wave in Barangay Ilang around 8:40 p.m.
The two suspects suffered the same fate when they tried to engage after sensing that they are selling drugs to police operatives.
Seized from the cadaver of the suspects were suspected shabu with an estimated amount of P25,000, a caliber .38 pistol with three live rounds and a caliber .22 pistol with two empty shells. (Ruji Peter S. Abat)
