6 nabbed in anti-drug operations-A A +A

SIX persons suspected to be involved in illegal drugs were arrested Tuesday in three separate operations launched by the Davao City police.
The first operation was launched by Sasa police led by station commander Superintendent Royina Garma around 12:15 a.m. at Zone 5 Alley, Km. 11 in Sasa, resulting in the arrest of Sherwin Yanong, 31.
Yanong was arrested after he received P500 from a police officer who acted as poseur buyer in exchange of one plastic sachet of methamphetamine hydrochloride or “shabu." Also recovered from his possession was another sachet of shabu.
The second operation was launched by the same police unit 30 minutes after at the Parola Compound in Sasa, this time resulting in the arrest of Leonardo Lambongan Jr., 21; Leonardo Lambongan Sr., 50; Jorrel Rudica, 21; and Arnel Calipasan, 24.
Sasa police reportedly received a telephone call from a concerned citizen informing them of an ongoing pot session in the area.
Responding police officers led by Police Inspector Merlito Tubog arrested the suspects after they were caught smoking marijuana.
Recovered from the table where the pot session took place were one bottle containing suspected marijuana branches, two rolled joints of marijuana, an improvised pipe containing marijuana, and a folded paper containing marijuana.
The other operation was conducted by Toril Police Office around 6 p.m. at Sitio Canipaan, Barangay Daliao in Toril where Charlie Labajo Soco, 28 was arrested.
Police collared Soco after he handed out a rolled paper containing marijuana to a poseur buyer. Also seized from Soco were three small rolled papers with marijuana and the P100 buy-bust money.
The arrested suspects will be charged for violating Republic Act 9165 or the “Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.”
