Man faces frustrated murder rap-A A +A

A MAN is facing charges before the City Prosecution Office for allegedly trying to kill another in a stabbing incident at Purok 5, Barangay Tungakalan in Toril, Davao City on April 6.
Facing frustrated murder charges is Erwin Madrigal Botron, 40. He was charged after trying to kill Raden Torefel, a 38-year-old driver and a resident of Purok 9, Upper Piedad, Toril.
Investigation of the Toril police revealed that the incident took place at 3:30 p.m. The victim was watching a game at the basketball court in the barangay when he was approached by the suspect.
Botron suddenly struck Torefel with a bottle on his head. The suspect allegedly broke the bottle and used the sharp ends of the broken bottle to stab the victim.
The victim was rushed to the St. John Hospital and was later transferred to the Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC) while the suspect fled back to his home.
The police later arrested Botron.
Investigation of Toril police revealed that prior to the incident, the victim received text messages from the suspect warning him not to show up in the barangay as the victim was contacting the suspect's wife.
The suspect is currently detained at the Toril Police Station.
