Driver faces multiple homicide, injuries raps-A A +A

THE Talomo police station is set to file complaints against a driver of the Forward truck that killed eight persons and injured 14 in an accident on Sarturday night along the Diversion Road (Carlos P. Garcia Highway) in Davao City.
Superintendent Julius Silagan, chief of Talomo police, identified the truck driver as Kim Cangue, who voluntarily surrendered after the accident.
Cangue is facing charges of reckless imprudence resulting to multiple homicide, multiple physical injuries and damage to property, he said.
“We will file it immediately as soon as the relatives of the fatalities arrive here,” Silagan said.
He said the accident that transpired on Saturday around 8 p.m. killed four people on the spot. They were identified as Teresita Sura Baogbog, 62; Liza Baogbog, 30; Juanita Baogbog, 30; and Jojo Serintas. All were on board a Tamaraw FX with plate number LCG-552.
Those who died in the hospital were Rexey Dave Ali, 7; Lexter Baogbog, 2; and six-month-old Zian Roncal, and Estelito Baogbog, 60.
Silangan said 14 others were injured. They are identified as Jake Lagada, Rosalina Bout, Sofia Baogbaog, Justine Bete, Marjorie Ali, Anthony Ali, Michele Lagarda, Raprap Ali, Wina Bout, Estella Santa Garda, Epefania Alforque, Reynaldo Ali, Jay Baogbaog ug Jeffrey Binasbas.
The victims are residents of Awhag Subdivision, Bacaca Road in Barangay 19-B Poblacion, Davao City.
Silagan said the victims were on their way home from a birthday party in Mintal.
The truck (with plate MGB-622), believed to have lost its brake, hit their vehicle from behind as well as a 10-wheeler-truck with plate number TND-896 and an XRM motorcycle with plate number AL- 56.
