NETIZENS and even locals here cheered for the victory of Sarangani representative Emmanuel “Manny” Pacquiao who scored a unanimous decision to defeat WBO Welterweight Champion Timothy Bradley Sunday.

The words Congrats Manny trended in the social networking site Twitter, placing first in the Philippines and third worldwide.

Pacquiao outclassed Bradley in 12 rounds making his record of 56 wins with five loses and two draws.

“Once more Filipino pride flies high,” Councilor Leo Avila said.

“He's indeed a champion. We are so proud of him,” City Social Services and Development Office assistant head Liwayway Caligdong said.

Herbert P. Duron, of Department of Social and Welfare and Development (DSWD), said it was “a vindication for Manny.”

“Walang daya unlike the last match. Filipinos are inspired anew,” he said.

Noel Daquiaog, head of Davao del Norte Provincial Tourism, said “Manny Pacaquiao became the epitome of the Filipno's perseverance as showed in his fighting stance. He was patient and stayed cool from round 1 to 12. Mabuhay ang Pambansang Kamao! Mabuhay ang Pilipinas."

"A knockout would have been more convincing but winning over a younger and denfending champion is no mean feat," said Public Attorney's Office Davao Region director Atty. Francis Calatrava.
