THE Davao City Parks System Board decided to disallow masseurs to operate in Osmeña Park, citing a national law on sanitation.

City Environment and Natural Resources Office (Cenro) OIC Engr., Liza Madrazo, chair of the parks system board, said the members of the board, who were present during the meeting on Monday at the City hall Conference Room, agreed to disallow the masseurs and cited Presidential Decree No. 856 or the Code on Sanitation. Madrazo, however, said the board could only act on the pull out of the masseurs once the City Health Office (CHO) further recommends it.

“Hindi pa yun final. Mag depende pa gihapon sa kung unsa ilang (CHO) validation,” she said.

She said the CHO is expected to submit its recommendation within the week.

Should the CHO recommend for the pull out of the masseurs, she said the board will meet with the cooperative handling them and discuss on the possible help needed to extend to them.

According to City Information Office OIC Leo Vilalreal, the Davao City Parks System Board was alarmed of the reports that “indecent actions” happen at the Osmeña Park.

The board also found out petty crimes such as illegal gambling and smoking happen at the park.
