THE Davao Light and Power Company (DLPC) advised its customers to observe safety measures during and after power outages.

Arturo Milan, executive vice-president and COO of DLPC, said safety must be everyone's concern.

"During blackouts, make sure to unplug all electrical appliances and lights," Milan said.

He said when power returns, irregular power supply enters the outlets and can cause possible damage to appliances such as television, computers, etc.

"It might not be totally destroyed but in time the effect will be more noticeable and your appliances will not anymore function well," he said.

He also said that once the power returns, wait for at least 10 minutes to stabilize appliances.

Davao City is experiencing a maximum of two hours and 30-minutes rotating power outages starting on April 28 due to the much lower power supply coming from the Mindanao Grid.

The DLPC already apologized to its consumers for the inconvenience brought about by the power interruptions. (ANC)
