2 more drug suspects face charges-A A +A

CHARGES have been filed before the City Prosecution Office (CPO) against two drug suspects arrested in a police buy-bust operation at a hotel in Toril, Davao City on Thursday.
Facing charges for violation of the Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 are Erick Silva, 34 and a resident of Barangay Simsiman, Norala, South Cotabato and Melanie CeloninGumba, 20, and a native of PurokMalok, Labangan, General Santos City.
The two were charged after they were arrested in a buy-bust operation launched by Toril police led by Senior Inspector Joel Migullas who coordinated with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (Pdea)-Davao.
Police made the arrest when the two handed out one small plastic sachet containing suspected shabu in exchange of the P500 buy-bust money from a police officer who acted as poseur buyer.
Police also recovered one big plastic sachet containing suspected shabu, one medium-sized plastic sachet of shabu, two small plastic sachets of shabu, empty sachets believed to have been used for packing shabu and assorted drug paraphernalia.
The suspects were subjected to weeks of surveillance before police launched the operation.
The two are currently detained at the Toril police station while the recovered drugs were endorsed to the Philippine National Police (PNP) Crime Laboratory for examination. It will be later used as evidence against the suspects in court.
