POLICE arrested a man who has a pending case before the Regional Trial Court (RTC) in Davao City after he was tagged as one of the suspects who stabbed a "habal-habal" driver before robbing and stealing his motorcycle at San Francisco St., Barangay Mintal, Tugbok District in 2013.
Operatives of the Talomo police led by station commander Superintendent Julius Silagan arrested Romick Ignacio Estabilla.
Estabilla has a pending case in court after he was tagged as one of the suspects in the incident on October 8, 2013 that hurt Ronnie Ocho Echalar, a 35-year-old habal-habal driver and a resident of Barangay Sto. Niño, Tugbok District.
Report of the Talomo police revealed that the suspect was arrested at Fatima Village in Matina. Police reportedly received a text message through the "Isumbong Mo Kay CD" hotline informing them that the suspect was seen at Fatima Village.
The other suspect identified as Jay-ar Oraye Walan, of legal age, was arrested the day after the incident took place.
It was earlier revealed that the victim took the two suspects as his passengers. The suspects reportedly told the victim to stop the motorcycle at a dimly lit portion of San Francisco St.
That was where the suspects allegedly stabbed the victim on his chest before taking his belt bag containing P650 and fleeing onboard the victim's black Honda Wave motorcycle with plate number 7476QJ.
Estabilla is currently detained at the Talomo police station and is set to be transferred to the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology in Ma-a once the court proceedings resume. (RSA)
