A FIXER is facing charges before the City Prosecution Office after he was arrested for illegal possession of firearm at an emission test center near the Land Transportation Office (LTO) on Quimpo Blvd. in Davao City Tuesday.
Facing charges for violation of the Republic Act 10591 or the Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunitions is Diosdado Flores Singcol Jr., a 26-year-old fixer at LTO-Davao City and a resident of Brgy. 76-A Bucana.
He was arrested by operatives of the Davao City Police Office Investigation and Detection Management Branch (DCPO-IDMB) led by Insp. Marcelo Merquita.
Police said they received information from a concerned citizen that the suspect was seen with the gun bulging out of his waist. Police then responded at the scene and arrested the suspect.
Recovered from the possession of the suspect were one Shooter caliber .38 revolver with six live ammos, a fake LTO driver's license and a black Kymco motorcycle with plate number 111201.
When asked if he had a license for the firearm he was carrying, Singcol was not able to present any document.
The suspect is currently detained at the DCPO detention facility while the recovered firearm was endorsed to the Philippine National Police (PNP) Crime Laboratory 11. It will be later used as evidence against the suspect in court.
Police may also file charges for falsification of public document for the fake LTO driver license recovered from the suspect.
