City gives P444,000 aid to 64 families

THE City Government of Davao distributed a total of P444,000 cash to families whose houses were burned in two barangays.

Mayor Rodrigo Duterte personally handed the cash assistance on Thursday to 64 families in Barangay Tibungco and seven families in Barangay Hizon.

In Barangay Tibungco, the P10,000 financial aid was distributed each to 28 families whose houses were destroyed, P5,000 each to two families whose houses were damaged and seven renters, and P3,000 to 27 sharers.

A total of 34 houses were gutted down in Barangay Tibungco at 12:45 a.m. of June 15.

Meanwhile, Duterte also distributed P38,000 to the fire victims in Branagay Hizon - P10,000 to a family whose house was destroyed, P5,000 each to five renters, and P3,000 to a sharer.

Duterte said the cash assistance was sourced out from the city's calamity fund.
