THE Criminal Investigation and Detection Group-Davao Region (CIDG-11) has been closely watching individuals who are involved in illegal drug and other criminal activities in Davao City following the arrest of a crime syndicate leader in a buy-bust operation at Times Beach in Matina.
CIDG regional director Sr. Supt. Joel C. Pernito warned these individuals to watch-out.
He said the unit has identified a number of persons involved in drugs and gun-running syndicates in Davao City, aside from other areas in the region.
Arrested and charged with violation of Republic Act 9165 or The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, and R.A. 10591 or The Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunitions, was Nasser Pasandalan Cudales.
The suspect was brought to City Prosecution Office on Friday for inquest proceedings, following his arrest on June 19. Recovered from his possession were 17 grams suspected shabu and three P500 bill marked money.
Also recovered from the possession of the suspect were one caliber.38 revolver handgun without serial number, one magazine, four live ammunition for his revolver, one digital weighing scale, and P620 cash, from his pocket.
Pernito said Cudales is the leader of the Matalam Syndicate, a criminal gang involved in selling and transport of illegal drugs from Cotabato City to Davao City.
He added that the group is listed under the Eastern Mindanao CIDG Target List of Criminal Gangs operating in Davao Region.
The suspect is now detained at the CIDG 11 jail facility.
