ONE OF the suspects in a gang-rape incident last June was gunned down by unidentified assailants in front of the Coca-Cola plant in Ulas, Davao City on Friday.

Police identified the victim as Marion Kenneth Balorio, alias Ken-Ken, a 29-year-old slaughterhouse worker and a resident of Ortega Village in Bangkal.

Talomo police reported the incident happened at 8 a.m. while the victim was walking with his girlfriend Jelyn Arcillas Onnac in the area.

Two unidentified suspects onboard a motorcycle drove by and shot the victim several times, police said.

The victim was brought to Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC) but later died while undergoing treatment.

Balorio was pointed as one of the suspects in a gang-rape incident at Barangay Matina Pangi two months ago.

The victim’s brother Edzel, who was also pointed as one of the suspects in the gang rape, was also gunned down last July 15 near their residence.

The mother of the siblings Lina Balorio Jamora, a 59-year-old meat inspector at a slaughterhouse in Ma-a, was also shot dead on July 22.

Police have theorized that the gang-rape victim's family may have been retaliating on the Balorios, but police are also looking into a work-related motive in the killings of Balorios.
