BRACE for heavy traffic this weekend as the Kadayawan highlights -- the street dancing and floral float competition -- are expected to draw thousands of spectators.
The Traffic Management Center (TMC) said road closures and traffic re-routing scheme will be implemented for the major activities of the 29th Kadayawan sa Dabaw.
Expect moderate to heavy traffic at the duration of activities such as the Indak-indak sa Kadalanan and Pamulak sa Kadayawan, the TMC advised.
Based on the official Facebook account of the City Government of Davao, the participants for the Indak-indak will pass through San Pedro St., Pelayo St., Bonifacio St., C. Bangoy St., Magsaysay Ext., and C. M. Recto Avenue.
Traffic jams are expected on Quirino Ave., Magallanes St., and Quezon blvd.
Meanwhile, the route for the Pamulak is Magsaysay Ave., then turn left to C.M Recto Ave., right to San Pedro St., turn left to Pelayo St., then right to Palam Gil St.
Heavy traffic is expected on Quirino Ave., Magallanes St., Quezon blvd, Ilustre St., and Camus St.
As alternate and access routes for vehicles from north part of the city to south, use J.P Laurel to Quirino Avenue to McArthur Highway, or J.P Laurel Avenue-R, Castillo St.-L, Garcia St., or J.P. Laurel Ave. to Cabaguio L. Garcia St., to Quezon Blvd, to McArthur Highway.
For vehicles from south to north, drivers are advised to use McArthur Highway to Quirino Ave. to J.P. Laurel Ave., or McArthur Highway to Magallanes St. to Quezon Blvd, or McArthu Highway to Sandawa Road to Quimpo Blvd, or McArthur Highway to Quimpo Blvd to Quezon Blvd.
TMC head Supt. Rogelio Poliquit said they will deploy a total of 128 TMC personnel during the activities.
