3 corpses of NPA rebels found after Davao clash

THREE unidentified corpses believed to be members of the New People’s Army (NPA) were recovered in Barangay Taytayan, Cateel, Davao Oriental after a firefight erupted between military troops and lawless armed group last Saturday, June 17.

Davao Police Regional Office investigation showed that around 2 a.m. on June 17, members of the 67th Infantry Battalion of the Philippine Army clashed with some 10 suspected NPA rebels in Taytayan village.

The firefight lasted for about 30 minutes.

In a clearing operation, various firearms, grenade, improvised explosive device, landmine materials, and anti-government documents, among others, were recovered from the scene.
