"I am building up the numbers of smoke free establishment so for the past two weeks we already declared 50 smoke free establishments, but this number is small, we aim to declare 200 establishments monthly," he said.

He said that an establishment will be qualified as smoke-free if they have complied with the requirements needed to be declared "smoke-free."

Engracia added that with the 200 or more monthly target, he is really hoping to mobilize more inspectors.

He said that at present, he only has six inspectors in his office, the reason he conducted lectures in the barangays and tapped more barangay-based inspectors.

"The first 50 barangays already conducted inspections and has declared 30 smoke-free establishments," he said.

Engracia said that he expects more inspectors after his next lecture with another set of barangays.

He added that he continues to communicate with the barangay captain to urge them to conduct inspections.

He aims to conduct lecture with 100 barangays within the month of June, he added.
