Davao mayor won't stop cops who want Caloocan stint

Saturday, September 23, 2017

DAVAO City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio intends to talk with the city director of Davao City Police Office (DCPO) Alexander Tagum with regards Davao City policemen volunteering to transfer to Caloocan City.

“The last discussion I had with City Director Tagum, there are volunteers, and he still did not have a memo. As of the latest update, there is already a list of personalities to transfer in Caloocan, who did not volunteer, I will discuss this again with the city director,” she said.

Duterte said that she cannot stop those who will volunteer to go since this is a democratic country.

Last Wednesday, the mayor expressed her objection on the transfer of police officers from Davao to Caloocan City after it was proposed by Philippine National Police Director General Ronald Dela Rosa.

Her reason is that it's difficult to be moving around personnel when the city is a high-security risk, being the President's home.

Duterte-Carpio said that it is hard to maintain a strong security if another set of police officers will be assigned here.
