Davao vice mayor supports 'Hugpong ng Pagbabago'

Wednesday, February 21, 2018

DAVAO City Vice Mayor Bernard Al-ag expressed his support on the creation of Hugpong ng Pagbabago (HNP), a regional political party formed by Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio together with four governors of Davao region.

"It is a welcome development, I am happy that there is a regional movement, and I am also happy to be part of it... hopefully next meeting, the local politicians of Davao will be involved," he said.

Al-ag said this development does not mean any conflict between existing the Hugpong sa Tawong Lungsod as a local party and the Partido Demokratikong Pilipinas-Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban) as a national political party, since it has different jurisdiction.

The City Information Office (CIO) on Tuesday, February 20, announced that Duterte and four governors of Davao Region, namely Davao Occidental Gov. Claude Bautista, Davao del Norte Gov. Antonio del Rosario, Compostela Valley Gov. Jayvee Tyron Uy, and Davao Oriental Gov. Nelson Dayanghirang, formed the regional party Hugpong ng Pagbabago (HNP). Duterte-Carpio is the party chairperson.

General assembly OF HNP will be held Friday, February 23, at the Royal Mandaya Hotel with around 500 expected members in attendance.
