Council reorganizes committees' leadership

THE Davao City Council has opted to redistribute among themselves the leadership in the various council bodies instead of just voting for replacements to the positions left vacant by City Councilor Paolo Duterte last week.
The council convened Tuesday for the election of chair, vice chair and members of different council committees.

Timeline: First 100 days of the Aquino presidency
Named chair of the committee for public safety was Melchor Quitain with Vice Chair Jimmy Dureza.
The vice chair of the games and amusements committee was given to Al Ryan Alejandre.
Councilor Edgar Ibuyan was named vice chair for public works, while the trade and investment vice chair position was given to Bernard Al-ag.
Al-ag was also elected member of the committee on youth affairs.
Committee on appointments chairmanship was given to Victorio Advincula Jr., vice chair is Tomas Monteverde IV, while Leah Librado was elected as committee member.
For the cultural committee, Joanne Bonguyan was elected as member.
Quitain was also named member of the environment committee, Dureza in the ethics committee, Nilo Abellera Jr. as member of the sub-committee in housing and also international relations. Louie John Bonguyan was named member of the labor committee. (JCZ)
