Duterte reelected ABC president-A A +A

DAVAO City Councilor Paolo Duterte, president of the Association of Barangay Captains (ABC), was reelected to the position during an election held at the City Council, Tuesday.
At around 2 p.m. Tuesday, 160 out of 182 barangay captains participated in the elections. Duterte swept the nomination with 159 votes, Edgar Ibuyan Jr. with 157 votes, and James Salvador with 152 votes.
Ibuyan was then nominated as vice-president of the ABC, while Salvador was nominated as the auditor.
Nominated as the eight new members of the ABC board of directors are Jesse Culaste with 141 votes, Myrna Mosqueda with 121; Ernie Alterado with 121; Pedrito Angco with 119; Romco Baquirel with 112; Ma. Elena Badaan with 106; Arnold Maalat with 104; and Leonilo Suyko with 102 votes.
Also nominated were Mario Masanguid who got 96 votes; Rolando Bantayan with 81; and Wilberto Al-ag with 18 votes.
Duterte and the new elected officials of the ABC immediately took their oath at the City Council session, promising to fulfill their duty to lead their constituents as well as to serve as role model of the citizenry.
In an interview, Ibuyan thanked his co-members of the ABC for electing him vice-president.
Ibuyan said the ABC official positions of secretary and treasurer will be duly appointed by the officers. (Jade C. Zaldivar)
