P252-M supplemental budget approved

THE P252-million 2010 Supplemental Budget (SB) 3 will be up on third and final reading after the City Council approved its second reading Tuesday.

Councilor Myrna Dalodo-Ortiz, chair of the City Council committee on finance, said the budget, which totals to P252,234,631.54, is broken down, as follows:

* P110-million for the peace and order program of the City Mayor's Office;
* P40,800,000 for the city's medical assistance -- Lingap Program;
* P3,005,750 for the City Council;
* P1.5 million for the City Assessor's Officer;
* P3,120,000 for the City Social Services and Development Officer;
* P2 million for the City Environment and Natural Resources Office; and
* P1,833,402 for the City Engineer's Office.

Under Budgets indicated as Lump Sum Appropriation, P26,232,084.15 is allotted for electrical expenses, including streetlights; and P7,400,000 for government building.

Debt Servicing has P10,000,000; Miscellaneous Personnel Benefits Funds with P2.5 million; Crisis Intervention Program with P1,000,000; Kadayawan sa Dabaw 2010 with P428,395.39; and Pasko Fiesta sa Dabaw 2010 with the budget P42,415,000 for the total of P252,234,631.54.

Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte said Monday that changes were made on the preparations for the city-initiated celebration of Christmas.

"Dako ang atong preparations kay gi-integrate na namo tanang events under Pasko Fiesta sa Dabaw. Under na diri ang para sa mga lumads; Elderlympics; barangay-based Pasko Fiesta; Pasko Fiesta sa Peoples Park, Pasko Padula; Christmas Village (contest); the bonus for government employees, their 13th month pay. All of these will be handled by one steering committee," Duterte said. (JCZ)
