PDEA agent, drug suspect dead in raid-A A +A

A MEMBER of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (Armm) and a suspected drug pusher from Valencia, Bukidnon, were killed in a raid in Lanao del Sur, Monday afternoon.
The dead PDEA agent has been identified as Jesus Ebo Jr., who hails from Pangasinan, while the suspect is one Vergelio Bobe.
Based on reports gathered from the PNP-Armm Regional Office, PDEA members raided the hideout of suspected drug pushers in Barangay Bliss, Wao, in the boundary of Banisilan, North Cotabato, at around 4 p.m.
PDEA-Armm regional director Brian Babang said they were about to arrest Bobe when he pulled out a caliber .45 pistol and shot Ebo in the neck and face. Ebo was able to fire back at the suspect.
The PDEA-Armm has stepped up its campaign against illegal drugs in the provinces of Maguindanao, Lanao del Sur, Basilan, Tawi-Tawi and Lamitan, Basilan, Marawi and Cotabato cities. (Edgardo Fuerzas)
