Troops distribute gifts

MORE than 100 residents from two villages in Mawab town in Compostela Valley received gifts from troops of the Philippine Army’s 10th Infantry Division at Camp Manuel T. Yan in the province on Friday.

Dubbed as “Community Christmas Party,” the event was organized by the 10th Infantry Division troops in partnership with health organizations, such as Department of Health-Davao Region (DOH-11), Kiwanis Club of Golden Tagum, and Fraternal Order of Eagles.

Number of Davao voters down

THE Commission on Elections (Comelec) in Davao Region has recorded a decrease in the total number of registered voters in the region.

From 2,539,415 registered voters last July, the region now has a total of 2,484,233 registered voters as of the latest Electoral Registration Board (ERB) meeting last October 20.

Iacat serves 132 trafficking victims

THE psychosocial unit (PSU) of the Interagency Council Against Trafficking-Davao Region (Iacat-11) Network has served a total of 132 human trafficking victims for this year.

Social welfare officer Alma Acera of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD)-11, which is the lead agency for Iacat 11 Network's PSU, cited in her year-end report at Hotel Tropika in Lanang, Davao City on December 12 that this year's total victims served is an increase from last year's total of 100.

Drug suspect nabbed in buy-bust

A MAN accused of selling illegal drugs at the Bankerohan Public Market in Davao City is facing charges before the City Prosecution Office following his arrest in a police buy-bust on December 15.

Charged with violation of the Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 is Dranreb Sarvida Dimalanta, a 27-year-old vegetable vendor and a resident of Magallanes St.

3 suspects who robbed, killed money lender sued

CHARGES have been filed before the City Prosecutor’s Office against two siblings and another suspect who were tagged in the killing and robbery of an Indian money lender in Tibungco, Davao City on December 9.

The Davao City Police Office (DCPO) reported homicide charges were filed against Allan and Omi Saliling while a separate robbery complaint was filed against their companion who has yet to be identified.

P675,000 razed in house fire

AROUND P675,000 worth of properties were damaged in a fire incident at Purok San Miguel, Dumanlas in Buhangin, Davao City on Thursday afternoon.

Initial investigation conducted by Police Officer 3 Ronnie Relator showed the fire started at the second floor of Niño Posa Nuñez’s house, which was made of light wood materials.

Duterte to NPA: Free soldiers before Christmas

10 firms to join 'Lamdag Parada'

Man who tried to stab cop charged

DOH to give free vaccination next year

Court junks motion to submit footages of slay suspects

Crime incidents in Davao down

THE Police Regional Office (PRO) reported a 19.9 percent decrease in the Region's crime volume from January to November 2014.

PRO Davao Region spokesperson Antonio Rivera said the crime volume in the region went down from 77,874 in 2013 to 62,352 during the same period this year.

German firm invests P1.2M for marine protection study

A GERMAN company will invest P1.2 million to conduct research on Davao City's marine protected areas calendared on year 2015-2016.

Anti-trafficking ordinance hoped to be implemented in 2015

Alleged drug pusher nabbed

Documentation of 4Ps beneficiaries continues

THE Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD)-Davao continues to verify beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) in order to identify and remove those who are no longer qualified in the program.

Anti-rabies program held

Visiting lumads are safe

Guard killed in drug buy-bust

A SECURITY guard who is believed to be a drug pusher was killed in a shootout with police authorities in a buy-bust operation at Purok 1, Barangay 19-B, Bajada in Davao City on Monday evening.

San Pedro Police Station commander Ronald Lao identified the suspect as Jake Richard Artieda Ronimo, alias Tol, 27, who hails from Cotabato City and a transient resident of Davao City.

5 nabbed in pot session, to face raps

STA. Ana Police Station has yet to file charges before the City Prosecutor's Office against the five suspects who were arrested in a pot session in Barangay 37-D, Quezon Boulevard in Davao City.

Police identified the suspects as Angeline Tibay dela Cerna, 20; Marcel Santiago Marigon, 27; Rizel Flores Inutan, 18; Roberto Diwa Cruz, 42; and Rudy Solarte Eranjo Jr. of Barangay 37-D in Quezon Boulevard.
