2 men sued for robbery

TWO men were charged before the Davao City Prosecution Office after they were arrested for robbing a taxi driver along the Davao Medical School Foundation (DMSF) Drive in Bajada on Sunday.

Facing robbery with intimidation charges are John Rex Rosales, 19, and Joey Amoguis, 22, both hailing from Times Beach in Ecoland. The two were charged after robbing Ricky Barcoma Ratayan, a 44-year old driver of the Alriyama Taxi.

TWO suspected illegal drug pushers are facing raps before the Davao City Prosecution Office after they were arrested with around P150,000 worth of shabu in a police buy-bust in Barangay 76-A Bucana on July 18.

Facing charges for violation of the Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 are Almer Viduya Albolera, alias Aming, 35, of Mangagoy, Bislig, Surigao del Sur and Balwin Canazares Serrano, a 30-year-old farmer and a resident of Km. 11, Sasa.

Rave party organizer, City Council face-off today

3 dead, 2 hurt in road mishap

THREE people died while two others were in critical condition following a vehicular accident Sunday evening along Davao-Bukidnon Road at Upper Lacson in Calinan, Davao City.

Killing of activist in Comval condemned

HUMAN rights advocates condemned the killing of an activist in New Bataan town in Compostela Valley and urged the local authorities to conduct a thorough investigation on the incident.

In a text message from a concerned citizen sent to Sun.Star Davao on Monday, the victim was identified as Gregorio Galacio, 38, a member of the Hustisya-Southern Mindanao, resident of Barangay Kahayag in New Bataan.

Pusher draws gun on cop, killed

A DRUG pusher tried to fight the law, and the law won. Caught in San Pedro Police Station's buy-bust operation for selling shabu, the unidentified suspect was killed after pulling a gun on officers.

Duterte: ‘Arrest illegal recruiters’

Counselors needed to address teen suicide

IN ORDER to address the rising number of teen suicide in Davao Region, an official said that guidance counselors should also be placed in public schools.

Councilor Joselle Villafuerte, speaking on Thursday's I-Speak media forum, said she had observed that public schools do not have guidance counselors unlike in the private schools. The government requires one counselor for an estimated number of students.
