METROLIFESTYLE aims to let people share the joy and excitement of sports-focused programs to their lifestyle. The recently concluded "Race Against the Machine Gym Challenge" and Halloween Fun Run, proved to be a great way to add enthusiasm to up fitness to the next level.

For the second time, MetroLifestyle Fitness Center & Spa held a Gym Challenge aptly titled "Race Against the Machine." The challenge was opened exclusively for MetroLifestyle fitness members, which started last September until October 15, 2009.

"Race Against the Machine" focused on three gym equipments adding challenge to a growing community of fitness enthusiasts. It also provides action and a new meaning to visiting the gym.

These three power machines are Precor Elliptical Cross Trainer, Keiser M3 Indoor Cycling Bike and Concept2 Indoor Rower.

Mandy Dinglasan topped the Male Division-Gym Challenge, finishing at 50 minutes and 19 seconds. Only six seconds behind, Miguel Cruz who finished with a time of 50 minutes: 25 seconds at second place. Jason Yap was only three seconds shy finishing 50 minutes: 28 seconds, placing him on third spot.

Comparable to the split-second difference in the Male Division, winners in the Female Division came as a surprise to the not-so-serious (as they claimed) challengers.

Maej Villanueva finished at 55 minutes: 49 seconds, followed by Analiza Arado at 55 minutes: 58 seconds, placing her second and Melanie Sam at 57 minutes: 26 seconds for 3rd Place.

The female participants realized that winning gave them the confidence to be more competitive in the next challenge.

Taking the challenge is all worth it as the champions received Silver (three months) Gym Gift Certificate, two months Gym Gift Certificate for the Second Place and Regular (one month) Gym Gift Certificate for the third place.

Wearing a costume while running around town is also a challenge! This was the case at the MetroLifestyle Halloween Fun Run last October 25.

Those who dared to look funny or scary got complimented with Free Whole Body Massage courtesy of Bahia Spa & Wellness.

Fitness members and employees got together for a morning warm-up exercise, then set on a fun run mode toward Peoples Park and back to MetroLifestyle with a hot and tasty lugaw for breakfast. By joining this monthly event, each participant also gives to Rescue-A-Child feeding program.
