A MAN was found dead with a deep wound in the head inside the house of his neighbor at Arroyo Compound, Barangay Matina Crossing, Davao City on Sunday.

The victim was identified as Reynaldo Tayao, 29, a construction worker. His wound in the head was believed caused by an axe.

Police believed Tayao was hacked dead by his neighbor, a certain Roel Adap, 31. Both hail from Don Marcelino, Davao del Sur but have been staying at Arroyo Compound.

According to Police Officer 2 Cirilo Flores, duty investigator of the Talomo Police Station, the victim's body was found inside the house of the suspect around 5 a.m. Sunday by the victim's brother, Brendo Tayao.

Police found an axe and a bloodied white shirt with printed words: Bagsik Tindi Power Bullets inside the suspect's house. Both evidences are in the custody of the Scene of the Crime Operatives (Soco).

It was learned that the victim and the suspect had a drinking spree around 2 a.m. Sunday at Quiñones Compound, Mahayahay, Diversion Road, in Barangay Matina Crossing.

The suspect remains at large.
