Writing is power
-A A +ASaturday, June 23, 2012
I FEEL powerful; and in this society that I am in, I seldom feel that way. But I feel it now at this very moment that I grasp this pen in my hand and scribble away these words.
It's always like this when I am in the mood to write and am aware of what to write. I always feel it's power.
Pushing egoism aside, I always believe that I hold power over time, fate, thoughts, decisions and minds with ink. I always ponder how great this something will be, waiting to be born from this mind and spun through these fingers. That's why writing for me is addicting. For me, words are the coolest beasts and writing is power.
So now, I have Saturdays to go to school and write.
I'm thrilled.
I have a beautiful teacher, not only in sense of style and appearance, but more importantly in mind, views, and words as well. I'll surely meet a lot of prominent individuals who are way better than me in writing. Just imagining the things that I'll learn from them gives me the chills.
If I'm determined enough to write twice or thrice as hard, it'll be fun trying to catch up to them and challenging myself to improve more and more. I have the chance to prove myself, to work with my classmates and group mates and create something meaningful. How much better can things get?
I am thrilled and I am looking forward to know more of this power that I now realize as addiction. (Madel M. Catre)
