The man with the iron fists

THERE is no longer any way for the people to try to avoid knowing about the alarming rise of crimes. They are all over the news.
There is no longer any way, likewise, for the government to dismiss or to ignore this fact of crimes involving firearms being committed despite the ongoing imposition of a gun ban.
To blame the media for highlighting stories about these crimes will simply not do the trick. These pointing fingers will not bring back the dead, or heal the wounds, or ease the pain of families. These pointing fingers will not solve the problems.
Instead of looking the other way, the government must accept reality, and address it squarely. Instead of complaining, it must begin responding. Instead of talking, it must begin working. The only way to overcome, or at least balance, the news on crimes is to create news, not only of the commission of crimes, but also of the resolution of crimes, or at least the efforts at thwarting them.
The media controls the stories about the commission of crimes. The government cannot silence the reports. The government controls the stories about the resolution of crimes, or at least the efforts at thwarting them. The government can at least do everything in its power to silence the guns.
Anyway, admittedly, presently, there are a lot of good news about the economy of the country, of increase in growth rates, of being called a rising tiger, of being viewed as the next big thing.
However, they end up mostly meaningless in the face of so many innocent people just dying, just getting hurt, just getting robbed.
Furthermore, they might even slow us down turning off potential investors or altogether weaken our strength bringing us to a pause or to a halt driving away existing businesses.
There is just no way we can actually become the rising tiger that we are being called or the next big thing that we are being viewed if we do not do enough to curb crimes. Without peace and order, without safety and security, there will be no long term development, there will be no long term progress.
As fact and quick as the President can, he should become the man with the iron fists.
