DIRECTOR’S Cut: (This portion features the thoughts of DepEd 11 Regional Director Gloria D. Benigno, CESO IV to all stakeholders and recipients of the efforts to improve the basic education) "I am your team leader, you are my team mates, together, let us work as a team"

My son was asked by his teacher in Social Studies to write and deliver a speech about peace and what they envision to have in the coming generations. They were asked to presume that they are peace advocates. I am publishing his speech in toto for I believe that the dreams of our children are genuine and are really coming from their hearts. This is his speech:

I have a dream that someday, a long and lasting peace will dawn upon us and be a reality especially for the people of Mindanao.

I will not stop and will do my best to be an instrument of this dream for the betterment of the people who will be the recipient of this effort and noble intention.

I know I am not alone in my quest for I firmly believe that this very people in front of me are also, in one way or another, have dream of living in a peaceful environment.

And who wants war? These are the people who don't value life. These are the people whose intentions are to sow terror and fear among the ordinary peace loving people.

But I know, with our help, with our constant and determined stand to achieve a society without guns and killer bombs, we will make things happen.

This maybe a long and tedious peaceful revolution but the result will be for everyone's benefit especially the next generations to come.

Our forefathers have already started it. Many remarkable steps are being planned and put into action and our support will be critical to achieve all of their aspirations for the future.

This is our chance to prove that this generation will be a potent force to attain genuine peace. This should start with us. This should start with you and me.

No one will do this except us, not tomorrow or the next day but today.

Have a peaceful day to everyone.
