THE man I am referring to is the Honorable Mayor Rudy Duterte.

He is the one-of-a -kind mayor, possibly, in the whole country. He always amazes me with his kind of leadership. The mayor is a man of action .He walks his talks. He means what he says. He rules with an iron hand but his tenderness and sensibility shows when women, mothers, children and the poor are concerned. His rule for righteousness and justice must be sought and carried out no matter who is concerned.

No man is above the law. His mere presence in any given situation assures everyone that no crime will be committed. With the spirited on -going campaign of his followers gathering signatures clamoring for his nomination for the office of the president come 2016 election, the mayor repeatedly announces that he is not willing to run. He knows his limitation. For this, I admire him.

Look at all the aspiring political personalities in the news, one burning the internet with his self- praise series of postings in albums, current news where he is in the centerpiece, meeting dignitaries in foreign lands what have you are pestering the potential wise honest, intelligent voters . The aspirants who have pending investigations on suspected corrupt practices or crimes must not insult voters who definitely are not fools, to think they will vote for them. The recent survey by Pulse Asia is a farce. Mayor Duterte said if it happens that he will be president his first act is to proclaim the country to be under a revolutionary government, bloodless, like the Cory Aquino government in EDSA movement against the Marcos martial law regime.

With the President Duterte revolutionary government, he will topple the hopeless present regime which is rotten from top to bottom. He will retain the upright and genuine statesmen and weed out the undeserving ones. This is a gigantic task. If not now; when will this country wake up? This must be the battle cry. Let us wait and see. Pray. This is not a God- forsaken country.

Another amazing response of Mayor Duterte to a nomination of an International association as outstanding City Mayor in a country is unbelievable news for many. His reason is he is not keen on getting awards.

What? Some ambitious politicians will be so eager to win any accolades. Some may even be willing to buy the award, which is the height of dishonesty and corrupt act.

President Pinoy offered a position to Mayor Duterte to be in charge of a delicate assignment given the present situation of unrest in the South. He is to chair the Regional Peace and Order Council. This, he readily accepted because in his heart and mind, he is capable of doing the task.

The mayor, most of the time, find opportunities to talk with the insurgent groups in southern Mindanao, the NPA, Abu Sayyaf, the MILf under the Missuari wing, the NDF. He believes that allowing them to air their grievances will give him the chance for brotherhood unity in spite of differences in ideology and causes they sought for. Tolerance and understanding will go along way instead of armed conflicts where the military and dissidents kill one another. It becomes worst when innocent civilians women and children are also killed. They run away from the battlefields and become refugees in their own land.

In connection with the disposal of the contraband cocaine bricks, the Mayor decided to destroy them here. He ruled against shipping the cargo to the PDEA main office in Manila. News of pilfering in transit is not new. Temptations abound given the situation. There are also cases of pilfering inside the PDEA storerooms for confiscated drugs. This is the height of a grievous crime when the law officers break their own rules with a callous conscience. They must be sued for this crime. Mayor Duterte must destroy the drugs with much care. Burning is one option in a special incinerator with a tall chimney. Persons addicted to the drug experience this. Sniffing the drug may result in damaging the septum in the nose. The septum is the bridge of the nose.

The mayor makes a citizen arrest anytime he personally will see a crime being committed. If a policeman on duty apprehends a criminal and the offender has a firearm, he can shoot him in self-defense. The mayor does not argue the fact. The CHR has a say in examining if a right of a person is tampered with and the Mayor is willing to explain his side.

The Mayor said that he cannot build tenement buildings at present due to lack of funds. That's what I like with the mayor. Unlike many grandstanding politicians who promise constituents with projects which begin and end at the drawing boards; he tells his constituents when a project cannot be done. I was amused when I read in the netizens' comments after lambasting the guests invited to Pres. Obama's dinner in Malacanang this comment. Why were the likes of Senator Miriam and Mayor Duterte not invited to the party? Read the internet lengthy reports and judge it yourself.
