PAL awaits delivery of more Boeing planes

FLAG carrier Philippine Airlines continues to expand and grow its fleet as it awaits the arrival of four more Boeing 777-300 between this year and 2011.
The airline is on a countdown for its 70th anniversary on May 15, 2011.

PAL vice president for sales Enrique Javier said that the delivery of the additional four new aircraft will be distributed in the next couple of years as part of the airlines upgrading.
The delivery of the four new Boeing 777-300ER aircraft will bring the total fleet of Philippine Airlines to 45.
At present, the 41 strong fleet of the flag carrier is composed of five Boeing 747-400, two Boeing 777-300ER, four Airbus 340-300, eight Airbus 330-300, eighteen Airbus 320-200, and four Airbus 319-100.
Dubbed as the world's largest long-range twin engine jetliner, the Boeing 777-300ER is one of the most fuel efficient commercial airplanes and can carry over 370 passengers for the Mabuhay Class and Fiesta Class.
The airplane can fly non-stop for over 7,880 nautical miles of 14,954 kilometers.
The state-of-the-art aircraft was first deployed on the Manila-Hong Kong route on November 26, 2009. It has since been deployed to Tokyo, on January 12, 2010 , and to Sydney and Melbourne, on February 20, 2010.
Accommodating 42 passengers in business class and 328 in economy class, PAL's B777-300ER features a cutting-edge inflight entertainment system, luxurious seats, and a soothing, coastal resort-themed cabin design. The fully digital inflight entertainment system enables passengers to choose from a broad range of media content.
