AMID the rotational brownouts and energy crisis, the Commission on Elections (Comelec) in Davao del Sur continues to prepare for the coming May elections, saying it is ready for it.
Lawyer Maria Febes Barlaan, provincial election supervisor, told Sun.Star Superbalita that they are not worried since they have devised Plan B for the coming elections.

Plan B involves the use of power generators so that automated elections will not be interrupted.
"We have already set up our plans so gagawin namin ang lahat para walang aberya pagdating sa puntong iyan," Barlaan said.
The Comelec on Friday set the first part of training for all the Board of Election Inspectors (BEIs) in the province.
The municipalities of Sta. Cruz and Malalag are among the first to get hands-on training on the use of the Precinct Count Optical Scan machine for the next two days.
A total of 160 members of the BEI and 30 other observers from the two municipalities participated in the training.
Barlaan said they will continue with the preparations and will ensure not to get hampered with the ongoing energy crisis.
President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo has declared Mindanao in a state of calamity on Thursday.
As part of the declaration, Digos City and the entire province will be allowed to use five percent of its budget to purchase generators and help alleviate the energy crisis. (Orlando B. Dinoy)
