QUALIFIED theft charges have been filed against a cashier accused of not encoding some items in her cash register inside Felcris superstore, early this month.
Prosecutor Gaye Magdagasang recommended filing of the charges against Charina Cañeda Camporedondo based on the accounts of the store's security guard, Ebrahim Ali Andatuan, 24, of Matina, Davao City.

In an affidavit, Andatuan said that around 11 a.m. on March 9, he was monitoring customers at the ground floor area when he saw a man and a woman getting a lot of lotion from a shelf and proceeded to cashier number 25.
He said he requested another security guard to go to the second floor so he could clearly see them.
He said the other guard noticed through the monitor that the cashier intentionally did not encode the exact items that are to be paid by the customers.
This prompted Andatuan to inspect the two customers before going out of the establishment.
He said that upon inspection, he discovered the discrepancy on the receipt amounting to P1,786.90 and identified the two as Irene Camporedondo Lagronio, 25, and her husband, Gerard Escarola Logronio, 26, of Bugac in Maa, Davao City.
It was later learned that Irene is the cashier's sister. The couple is now facing separate charges before the City Prosecutor’s Office.
Magdagasang recommended a bailbond of P24,000 for the respondent's temporary liberty. (RHM)
