NACIONALISTA Party standard bearer Senator Manny Villar, through Davao City mayor’s intervention, explained Thursday to international televangelist Pastor Apollo Quiboloy for not showing up during the pastor’s presidential forum on March 9.
Over dinner at the Kingdom of Jesus Christ The Name Above Every Name headquarters of his 6 million- strong congregation, Villar explained his reasons for not showing up during the forum despite the persistence of his staff that the strong contender for the May 10 presidential race was already on his way to the venue.

"Sa amin na lang yun," Villar courteously requested from the members of the media who prodded him for a reason for his non-appearance.
"It's just a matter of talking with Manny (Villar) as to what happened. So, nagkaintindihan naman kami," Quiboloy said.
Both the pastor and Villar were tight-lipped over the real reason why the senator did not show up at the presidential forum.
"What is important is nagkaayos na kami," Villar said.
As to why it took Villar nine days before he showed up at the doorsteps of Quiboloy was primarily a schedule problem.
"I wanted to see him on that day also, but we were both busy. This is the only convenient time that our schedules matched," Villar said.
Quiboloy said: "I recall Manny called immediately after the forum, so did the (Davao City) mayor (Rodrigo Duterte), but I was so busy. Manny was also busy at that time and I was too. Ang dami kong bisita that time."
"I'm happy. I'm full and happy. Of course I am happy," Villar said as he exited the grounds of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ, the Name Above Every Name.
It was also revealed that the two parties are now ironing out the details for the guest appearance of the senator on the television program of Quiboloy.
"We will have to discuss the schedule," Villar said, adding that he is grateful for the opportunity to present to the people his platform of governance should he be elected to be president of the country.
