THE New People's Army (NPA) struck anew, this time attacking a police station in Agusan del Sur.
In a statement e-mailed to Sun.Star Davao Thursday, the NPA's 4th Pulang Bagani Company (4th PBC) said it has successfully disarmed the police station in Barangay Poblacion, Sta. Josefa, Agusan del Sur around 8:30 a.m. of July 1.

"During the 10-minute raid-disarming operation, the NPA confiscated eight firearms. Among these are three M16 armalites, an M14 rifle, three .45 caliber pistol, and a 9mm pistol. Ammunition and other PNP paraphernalia were also confiscated," the rebel group said in the same statement.
Not a single shot was reportedly fired as the police station was quickly neutralized.
"Once again, this tactical offensive shows that the NPA's sole target is the firearms that would further strengthen the revolutionary fighters. Nobody from the enemy's side would become casualties if they will not resist NPA offensives. This is because the NPA adheres to the International Humanitarian Law concerning hors de combat," rebel spokesman Ka Nadem said. (BOT)
