Rep. Ungab Cup HCSD booters pace 10-under

THE Holy Child School of Davao and Montserrat Camp School of Davao (MCSD) are leading their respective divisions in the Football Liga ng Kabataan: Cong. Isidro T. Ungab Cup at the Mintal Elementary School.

Holy Child edged Medvil, 2-1, before crushing Catalunan Grande, 10-0, in the 10-years old and under category. MCSD, on its part, drew with Mintal, 1-1, after whipping Tacunan, 5-0, while Mintal blanked Catalunan Grande, 4-0.

Holy Child improved to a 3-0-0 win-draw-loss card to earn a total of nine points followed by Montserrat (1-1-0) and Mintal (1-1-1) with four points each.

Medvil (1-0-1) and Tacunan (1-0-1) took the next two spots while Catalunan Grande (0-0-3) and University of the Philippines (UP) Mindanao Tigers (0-0-1) are at the bottom of the standings.

In the 11-13 category, MCSD hacked out a 5-0 win over Catalunan Grande Girls and doubled it up with another 5-0 victory against Catalunan Grande.

Medvil, meanwhile, forced a 0-0 standoff with Mintal then trounced Tacunan, 6-1, in the league organized by the Davao Football Association (DFA) aims to promote the sport in the Third District, to provide a diversion program that will promote health and fitness and to discover players who will represent Davao City in future competitions.

Catalunan Grande equalized with Holy Child, 1-1 in another match.

MCSD, which totes a clean 2-0-0 slate, was on top of the rankings with six points while Medvil (2-1-0) led other four pointers Catalunan Grande (1-1-1), Mintal (1-1-0) and Holy Child (1-1-0).

The tournament was launched on August 7 at the Deca Homes Resort and Residences football field.
