The mock polls were done using the customized version of the open-source voting system that the University of the Philippines-Diliman used for its Halalan sa Diliman 2010, said Fr. Kim Lachica, head of the technical working group for Addu's mock elections.
Addu Computer Science division head Rey AliƱo said: "To guarantee the integrity of the mock election results, the voters were issued a computer-generated password upon presentation of the barcoded University ID card."
Aside from the mock elections, Addu will also conduct a survey with 400 respondents, College faculty staff and researcher Mae Fernandez said.
"Mas magiging malawak yung scope natin. Other than the presidential and vice presidential positions, idadagdag natin yung sentoriables, congress, and the mayoral and vice mayoral positions. Hindi lang yung name yung ia-identify ng respondents kundi pati reason kung bakit nila binoto ito," Fernandez said. (JCZ)
